One of our sales guys has one at work which does epic km's.
It's good on fuel, tows well, plenty of grunt, nice to drive etc.
It's done big Kms and only really gets brake pads, oil & filters.
Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Great trucks, we have one at work on a hill country station. We also have two newer 2.5 tritons and the 3.2 is far better power and smoothness. Like all new diesels watch for moisture and contaminants in fuel system.
Some appear to have an electric rear window in the twin cab, our twin cab does not. May be something worth looking at. Also i believe there are two models of 4wd engagement in them, ie one has a center diff other is true part time 4wd.

We have had 7 - 8 of these at work about 2007/2009 age. Various models. Common faults was the surging throttle when cruising at about 2000rpm, suspension got tired quickly, air-con evaporators tended to get leaks (remove entire dash to replace), getting bogged can take off the front diff actuator?, power steering pump driveshaft seal went on one, letting the engine oil mix with the power steering fluid. Rear of the tray developed cracks.

Tough environment though - mine sites in the Pilbara of WA. We are now entirely Toyota...

Olds have had one since new, currently 110,000kms. Mitsi replaced ecu at around 20,000kms due to surging. Great truck, real good kms/l front suspension is soft.
Softroader VW Amarok nowadays....

theres heaps of info in http://www.newtriton.net. most common fault is the egr blocking the inlet manifolds with gunk, fuel pressure regulator solenoid seems to go on these a bit.

have had to do the timing chain on mine (205kms) which isnt a cheap job but have only heard it happen on a few of them

apart from that its a great truck with heaps of power for towing, has rear diff lock which can be really handy.

Its always great to hear that common issues like the surging at low open throttle do exist. I have taken mine to dealer 6 times over the years when it annoys me, only to hear. First time we've ever had this one.

i think that would be a common comment from most service departments at dealers. have just ordered a new suction control valve for my triton as have bad surging at idle and it is now throwing codes up and sending into limp mode. how much are you selling the chips for?
