onboard air 300tdi

Post by 44jetboat »

thought i would share this with fello landy lovers

all good aslong as you dont use your air con often

have not long finnished a install on my disco "winston"

i was busy putting in my front diff locker and thought what else can i mess with.

i had a rear chinese locker that came with loom , switchs and pressure valve.

so split that all up and ran the power to the little 12v pump (all fuses and relays already there) to the air con clutch

air is drawn from the air box so it is filtered and shouldnt get wet

put a inline oiler infront of the pump and a water/oil trap after it.

used a 2.5kg fire ex bottle and my brother made me a little alloy block for the 2 locker switchs and the pressure sensor.

inflates tyres really well compressor keeps up no problem

works great. also great to have both lockers in :D

Well done, that's a nice functional set up. My 93 TDi200 AC still pumps like a meat freezer so havnt got the heart to convert it to an air pump yet so still using a HD 12v portable pump.
I actually have a recon air suspension pump off a Landy and after it lying around in my garage for over 12 months am going to consider mounting under the bonnet and plumb it to the back where I have a portable tyre inflation tank and hook it up through inline 12v pressure regulators so it kicks in and out on its own and then have front and rear take off points for my and other folk's trucks with a blow gun for the odd dizzy too. Love it.
