Heard a rumour that theres changes coming as of 17 Sept that 4wds over 2000 need to now run some form of ARB or simlar bullbar that prevents pedestrians getting dragged under the vehicle instead it flicks them up over the bonnet or something along those lines.
Young fulla at local servo was telling me about it I reckoned he might of been full of it so thought I'd check on here incase one of you knowledgable folks may know.
Cheers
Tim

Dunno about a law change but the rules at the moment don't allow for forward protrusions for that very reason.

First clue that its BS is the date. Very rare for new regulations to be back dated unless they also have a first reg date.

How is 17 Sept back dated? We are in July. Sept hasn't come yet.

Can't see anything to do with this online.

I still chuckle at the vagueness of most of these requirements...
a) is of excessively heavy construction for the purpose for which it has been fitted
d) has an unnecessarily wide gap between the object or fitting and the front of the vehicle, or
Who determines whether it is "unnecessarily wide"?
