Auto locker setup/rebuild
Auto locker setup/rebuild
I have a lockrite auto locker in my 1.6 escudo which I instaled myself. Up until today it's been fine but it has suddenly started making some weird noises and clunks. I am still yet to remove and investigate further but if worst comes to worst, who is the best person to get to rebuild in Wellington? I did a search in the google machine and all that came up was Wellington automotive ( ex miles udy) which I have used before for a past gearbox rebuild. Is there any others?

Wow Miles Udy, he helped put a 2l cortina motor in my Mk1 escort with an RS2000 g/box, that was mid 80's

If you can install it you can set it up correctly.
If the clearances aren't right you can end up breaking the springs and pins.
Get the install manual and a set of feeler gauges and you should be fine.
I bought mine second hand and it had broken pins which I replaced.
I had to get my thrust washers machined down to get the clearances correct.
Matt.
