fj40 temp gauge

Post by parker »

I have recently changed the engine in my 40. Replaced the 2f with a 2f. Before the swap the temp gauge would sit at the first peg in the window. Now it sits at just over half. Have I missed something while hooking it all back up ?

Could it be that your old thermostat in your original engine was stuck open? The new one, in the new engine, is operating as it should?? Would'nt hurt to pop it out and check it

Did you swap the temp sender from your old engine into the new one?

As I understand it hot air does not give any reading on the temp gauge, you only get a reading when the sender is in water.
Have you checked the thermostat to see if there are any differences between the old and new engines?
