Been going down there at least once a month (North side where the 'designated' 4wd tracks are) since I got my 4wd. Noticed work being done there all the time, mostly gravel trucks and the few clearing up trees from the winds we had.
I went down there last week though and noticed that the 4wd tracks have been blocked off (big blocks and wire fence like Mcleans Island got). Aswell as diggers/graders have gone through and made wider tracks for trucks to get access to the riverbed.
Wtf is going on? Have the same/more idiots caused these to be closed off like Mcleans Island was? Or have the workers now got exclusive rights to destroy the tracks so they can get to the riverbed?
What's happening at the 'mak?

Not sure exactly where you mean but the official area is upstream of Harrs Rd on the North Side.

Yeah that's it, I go in off Diversion road. Get to the end where the stop banks are and you turn left (official designated 4wd tracks), which is all closed off. Aswell as alot of the tracks further up to the right are closed and/or being flattened and widened for gravel trucks etc to get to the riverbed.
There might be access to them on Harrs road, I've never used that so not sure?
I really do hope it's just a temporary thing and not permanant (same fences put in that were put in out at Mcleans etc aren't a good sign though). Would suck if it is though, where else is left still semi-close to town?

last time i talked to the ranger said they are planing to log all the pine trees out north of the erye river (hence why it closed). Can still get to river via harris road (turn left after one way bridge).
Was a write up in one of the local rags about clearing all the down trees and making a decent 4x4 park with the help of combined 4wd.
