At what point does lift become hassle

Post by hamishh »

Hi
As the title says. Am thinking about lifting my 80 series a further 2in to bring it to 4in so I can use 35in tyres. But at what pound does it become bad for drive line and rest of running gear?
Thanks

If you want 4" you will need /should do extended rear lower arms , gearbox spacers , extended brake hoses , castor correction ,extended swaybar links , extend your diff breathers , Adjustable panhards ,

We stock most of these parts ,
Dobi springs in 4" for $560 , Amada extreme adventure series shocks are $560 , Adjustable panhards $500 a pair , for an indication

We also do tough dog pahards $600 a pair , Tough dog 4" shocks $860 a ful set etc ,

castor correction - ensuring you kingpins ie front wheels turn around a near vertical axis on the diff relative to the ground, the more you lift the more angle the diff gets tipped on and also the closer the diffs get together (hence longer arms to retain wheelbase/geometry)
panhard rods- ensure your diffs are in the centre of the chassis
problems are only a problem if you not willing to learn how to find solutions

We ran 35s (BFG AT then KL71 as pictured) with 2 inch lift. Only needed minor trimming of the mud flaps and small bumpstop extension.
