Prado manual hub spacer thickness ?

Post by Rotazuk »

As the long tittle says , does anyone know the thickness of the spacers used on the Prado freewheeling hub mod ?Generally do they pick up the dowels and carry then through to the fwh ?
Looking to use them for something else if they are thick enough .

Cheers
Chris

Yes you want to pick up on dowels... And then dowel the FWH too.
From memory its 8mm.... I can try and find my old spacers... in the light of day tomorrow...
I ended up changing to 60 series hubs as the spacers used to come loose and shear bolts....
Other way is to get the electric hub modified by "old Blue" those hubs are just as strong as the manual hub... Just the electric motor / brushes let them down.

Best doing what oldblue suggested or replacing hubs and stubs with hilux ones. But if you have to Terrain Tamer do a spacer kit:
