petrol hilux qs?

Giday im looking at buyin a new truck its a 88 hilux 2.4 petrol manual, how reliable are the petrols? Wats feul economy like? Any other bits i should know?

they are a basic reliable little engine but bare in mind they are all pretty old and worn out now, as far as economy goes they are an undersized engine for a heavy vehicle so they drink gas like its going out of fashion :D the efi one's are the pick of the bunch if you can find one :D

I actually didn't mind mine as a runabout.
So long as your not running big tyres for every day use..

Nice and simple to work on.
