petrol hilux qs?

Giday im looking at buyin a new truck its a 88 hilux 2.4 petrol manual, how reliable are the petrols? Wats feul economy like? Any other bits i should know?

they are a basic reliable little engine but bare in mind they are all pretty old and worn out now, as far as economy goes they are an undersized engine for a heavy vehicle so they drink gas like its going out of fashion the efi one's are the pick of the bunch if you can find one

So long as your not running big tyres for every day use..
