LN107 Broken G/box ??

Post by catalystracing »

So I am driving down the Rimutakas and go to change down into 4th from 5th.
Its really notchy and difficult to shift and then I got no gears at all. It wont engage into gear at all, neutral is my only option, I have clutch fluid and clutch pedal, seems something in the box let go with no prior warning.

I know these are pretty bullet proof but it looks like a sniper snuck one in. Any ideas :?: :?:

Hope to drop it out tonight/tomorrow.

96 LN107 D/C with 5sp manual.

Before you pull the box... I would be taking off the gear lever selector and looking in from the top... Maybe something has come adrift?

Yeah, we put her over a mates pit and made a plane do do it tomorrow.
Any hints or tips to get it out.
Are going to drop the sway bar, remove the front drives hafts, front exhaust and look at dropping back of g/box down to get at the front bell housing bolts.
Am I thinking in the right direction :?: :?:

Cheers

Progress was slow today, rusted exhaust bolts were the major slow down. Did pretty much as we planned above and went ok.
G/Box and T/Case are sitting on the bench ready to crack open and peek inside.
