Wanted, Toyota wide axle brake spacers

Post by bob_or_jim »

Guys, as per the title I am after some wide axle spacers. I would prefer the wider ones (40mm ish) where you use the 60 series cruiser disc but if someone has the smaller (18mm?) ones that use the IFS surf disc I may still be interested.

Cheers

Hi, thanks for that mate but unfortunately not quite what I'm after. These spacers allow you to run IFS hubs which push the track out about 30mm each side. The spacers then push the disc back inline with the calliper.

Are you wanting them to mainly increase track or so you can put vented discs on with the the surf calipers.

Well actually I already have a set that I have borrowed for the last 2 years and need to replace them finally. So my current setup is the thinner spacers but want to return them and go for the thicker ones that allows me to go for the full size disc as well. Currently the pads hang over the edge of the disc a few mm

Confused, I thought you were talking about spacing the caliper out to meet the disc but I thought it worked out with all factory bits.... are you talking about spacing the calipers "out" to suit a larger dia disc? Or both, maybe if you could name the parts used and what you want to use then the toyo nuts can help you.

Toyo nuts will know what Im after. Pretty common thing to do for Hilux's that wanna be a tad wider. Anyway here is a link of what I am after. Trouble is shipping is $400 + gst!

They dont look to complicated, would it not be easier to take one of the ones you have to a engineer and get some made the thickness you want. Or get a few sets made and sell some to offset the cost.

I have some machined and ground spacers made from 4340 you can have for cheap. I even have the bolts as well.

You could just machine 2mm off the calipar mounting face and bolt it to the other side of the mount. KZJ78 front rotors will complete the picture.

Yeah I think I remember looking at that when I first put the solid axle in but from memory the bolt would need to come in from the disc side? Can't quite remember. Will certainly have another look though!

If I had access to a mill I would do it that way.
