80 series cruiser on 37's

Post by gazthedoc »

I saw this a few years back at ricks place pre-earthquakes, was an 80 series on 37's with superior flex front arms, big ammo case on the top, winches front and rear, fox shocks, shit load of lights, was owned by an Alaskan guy who was selling it before leaving the country. Just wondering if anyone knows who bought it in the end as I'd like to make them an offer, always wanted an 80.

Mumbles on here owns it, It used to be based in wellington.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Bugger, fair enough, if it was mine I wouldn't sell it either. I'm sure there is a long list for first refusals but if you could my name on it I'd appreciate it

wouldn't advise buying/building something similar - if you planned to use it more than the 3 or 4 times a year I do

it drives like a ferry,
it drinks diesel like a ferry,
smokes like a ferry,
breaks down / requires expensive maintenance more often than a ferry,
passengers complain of seasickness like a ferry,
very slow like a ferry,
smells like ocean, ferry
an worse of all the fridge has a poor bar selection like a ferry, etc etc etc

ferry.

If you are serious, give me a call. Have to many toys and not enough time.

80 Series, LS1 twin turbo, Auto, 37' beadlocks, KM2's (new) 7 seater (half built rear shelfs though) FULY CERTED - just finished . (CV's axels and diff's Nitro Gear, ARB diff locks front and rear, about $8k) (complete engine re-build-for cert-emissions Argh), about $4k)
It drives better on the road than my other 80 did with 4' lift and 35's.
Passing and traffic lights are fun!
