g52 gearbox only behind y series motor???

Is the hilux g52 gearbox only found behind the petrol y series motors?

I'm wanting to find a surf with a g52 box to do a 3rz conversion but the y series surfs are rare as fock, are they sometimes found behind the diesel's?

You aren't limited to a G52, any of the W series boxes will bolt to the same bell housing as the G52, and are a lot stronger.

I have a LN107 Hilux with the 3L and a G52 behind it.

The Hiluxes with 3RZ engines came mated to W56 boxes from the factory. If you can, it would probably be easier to swap the whole lot over - Engine, gearbox, transfer case.

That's only the case if I got a 3rz out of a manual surf. Which is very hard, easier to find a manual 2wd 3rz.

I drove a 185 surf with 3rz/manual combo about a week ago, holy shit they go well made my intercooled turbo 2.8 diesel feel slow as fark! :lol:

What surprised me the most is how much torque they have down low, pulled well from idle all the way up to redline. :mrgreen:

Hhmmm could be smurf, first things first is to sell the terrano then find a tidy surf, I'm only doing this if I can find an unmolested surf, but if you still got it if I find 1 I will definitely hit u up. Cheers
