Mark Evans and his "A ... is born" series of TV shows

Post by mercutio »

anyone else discovered this guy he started out on TV in the UK doing animal related stuff as he is actually a veterinarian but he is really a petrolhead and started out with a show called "A car is born" in which he built a Cobra kit car. Since then he has built a race car a chopper a motorbike done a resto of an MG and a few other projects.
I'm in the process of watching "A 4x4 is born" in which he builds a 100" Rangie Landie hybrid quite an informative and entertaining show none of the hype you get out of the american shows.

Unfortunately Discovery channel seemed to have taken all the first episodes off youtube but here is a link to episode 2 of a 4x4 is born

I watched his first car show (at least I think it was his first car show) in which he restored an E-type jag. After that there was the one you mentioned which is a must see for Landy fans. Then after that he did a show building up some kind of Seven replica - a Caterham I think. Then after that he did one where he was assembling a helicopter kit and getting flying lessons. This is going back a few years, the original Jag resto must have been done more than a decade ago. I haven't seen the motorbike shows so I'll have a look for them - thanks for the heads-up.

And to think - he get's paid to do this....

I've seen most of his shows when they were on Discovery. He mentioned in a lot of the episodes that he is actually a trained Vet.
