Good stuff Dave. Bloody awesome of you guys to do that.
I see you were sporting the AB's? Should've introduced some rugby to them while you were there.

I did 4 years voluntary work in the South Pacific, so I get what ya doing. Love the idea of using the 4WD hobby to help. Win-Win

so what runs the water? a petrol or diesel pump?
Re: Mini Hydro Install Remote Malaysia 22-26 August
Gravity.
Water flows down that pipe downhill then its forced into the smaller tip making pressure.
Did a similar system in a house we built a few years ago. Had a 64 volt battery bank and a inverter though.

The water is fed from a stream running a small 200 litre sized header tank down a 2" HDPE pipe for length of 300 meters and a total of 80meter drop giving us the 62 PSI we need to turn the water wheel. Totally fossil fuel free which is what we need and wanted.

So working on 0.2a at 240v will give 20a at 24v which im guessing will be shed loads of lighting etc if running led lights. And possibly a wireless radio transmitter during the day.
What a great result.
