They are both as good as each other. The QD32 has more low down grunt but the TD27 likes to rev a bit more. In my experience the QD is actually a little cheaper to run.
We have 4 R50's at work, 2 QD's and 2 TD powered and they have all done big k's. Personally I would get the QD over a TD if they were the same price.

how much more power does the qd have? i really only want it as a truck for towing the float and trailer and going on trips down to the lakes so def a soft roader.

The QD is the better tow engine. Td's do tow well but drink a bit of diesel towing anything heavy. The QD powered terranos also have a decent factory fitted trans cooler.

QD if you are towing IMHO. plenty of R50s to choose from (if you don't mind the colour Black)

Watch for sticky pump plungers on the qd, don't know if the TD27ETI also has the same problem? Feels like a lag and then sudden takeoff when you accelerate from a stop, i test drove a heap and quite a few had this problem, feels like a trans problem when it gets bad, as if you are shifting N to D while you put your foot down its that bad, and will stuff the trans eventually if auto from shock loading. I ended up getting a ZD30 one in the end despite all the bad hype, done 270thou and never given me an issue

lots of mistrals suffer that same thing, 3VILC. I read that the QD32 and the TD27 Eti share the same brand pump. Is there a cost effective fix, Crash?(other than a complete pump rebuild?- assuming one would like to keep the Electronic pump)

the issue is just wear on the needle valve and the magnets, (fly by wire) and yes it is cheaper to stick a mechanical pump in then repair the ETI pump at this stage as the taiwanese haven't yet made a cheaper but different (that resolves the issue) replacement like they did with the other major mistral issue...window regulators.
