Manukau trucks at Possum palace?

Post by Checkerhead »

First up. Hopefully this won't get ugly. Please can a Mod shut down and delete sooner rather than later if it does.

This doesn't need to be a shit storm. Hopefully, given the event was a few months ago, there might be a cool headed discussion. Perhaps some positive discussion might be helpful.

Finally, please take your time, write a reply and maybe wait 24 hours before posting if someone offends you.

Being a south islander now, I have no idea what's going on up north. Can anyone explain to me what was the politics or ideas surrounding the fact that no Manukau people/trucks entered the recent Possum palace event. Don't tell me it was a mere coincidence, I know better than that.

Arron.

I would suggest you contact Manukau club and ask them directly ,please don't take this the wrong way but experience shows a post like this will only bring out the worst in people

You might both be right (History shows you are).

I'm hoping that because of the slower nature of written media that we might get some considered and less emotion-driven discussion.

The last thing we need is any kind of rift forming between clubs. That won't benefit anybody.

No coincidence or conspiracy
I went down to do the Nelson winch comp in June and had night vision issues
The south islanders convinced me to park up down there for their next event in July at Cust We did well at Cust and won the outlaw / modified class but we did come out of it with the jeep looking a tad second hand . By the time I got back to the north island the possum event was only a few days away and neither the jeep or the crew could get repaired in time

Also "club class" was not catered for, that took care of a few more

So the lesson learned here would to practice what you preach. You should've drafted your first post, left it for 24 hours. And then thought about posting an accusatory thread implying a conspiracy of sorts.

Better yet, asked it in a private message to the Club concerned to see what was amiss.

Can we all be civilised from here on (or as civilised as we can be). Cheers.
