Worse I had done over 3/4 of the trip with a rear axle with 2 studs missing and this was no walk in the park track (3 broken cv's one busted rear diff one busted off spare tire carrier) - fully loaded with 34 camp beds 300litres of water, tarps and food for 35 people the troopy was being driven with due care.
So a set of longfields was ordered however only right side is available. the left side needs to be measured up and custom made by longfields as the old troopy chassis no is BJ75000002977 and the shafts are apparently different to later models.
Then the issue of the broken studs was done first spent ages getting out the 2 philips screws which had been minced when the previous studs were repairs sigh sob.

A spare hub was purchase and all 3 are to be customised to have 10 studs along with the shafts this week. Anyone else done this mod? I also believe you can put bigger studs in.

The lost and forlorn axle

Then it was down to the exhaust shop to repair RED after my russian friend belted off the spare tire through the rear window smashng the tire carrier on a drop of during the same trip. First we fitted the new window. I ground down the poorly welded original and the exhaust shop happily welded it back on.

Then it was time for the right side longfield to be fitted but not before I noticed a split shock top mount frame and a loose spring hanger bolt.

Has anyone installed longfields in a 75? I want to know the results for anything else I need to worry about - haha front diff exploding etc.
More TLC for the 27 year old troopy needed in coming months - including a new body which I have found 1800k away in SABAH.
