so I decided to give the old girl some much welcome feel good. found that the pinion bearing had gone and taken the r&p with it. so full over haul done and taken awhile. but now ive forgotten how some of it goes back together on the back of the swivel housing looking at it from housing to diff head, I cant remember if it goes rubber-steel-felt or steel-rubber-felt? what says you

They go steel... Then rubber and finally felt.

So when rebuilding them... Soak the felt in light machine oil and squeeze out excess, slip it over the ball first, then pop over the rubber one. Then the steel. Fit knuckle and king pins.... etc etc. Do the pre load on the swivel bearings and finally fit the seals back against the knuckle.
