ln130 coil beam axle front diff swap !

hi guys im just doing a beam axle swap on my 4 runner ( 2.8 nz new modle surf )

ive brought a lj78 front cut chassis off trademe only issue is its in blenim of all places ! and im in wellington ... any one that can hook me up and drag accross the coo straight will be a legend !

so at the moment i have a blown cv and a broken diff mount and am going to be selling all the 4.3 set up the diffrence is 4 runner diff isnt vacuum operated so there for isnt prone to being weak in the selector fork

my truck curently sits a little low in the front due to having a lift in the rear and wound tortions but still low so there for with this mod ill be killing a fair few birds with one stone

Did you manage to find a 4.3 high pinion diff head to do the swap with ?
when I looked at SASing my surf , I couldn't find one as they are rare a rocking horse S#%t

4.3 high pinion were only in the 1kz prados

yeah i did ! should be here tomorrow sorry for not being up to date with the posts but have been in the carport working so sofar i have tacked the trailing arm mounts in
,spaced down 25 mm to compensate caster , assembled my rear air locker and been flat tack !!!!!!!!!!! mattman has been and helped out cheers bro !!!

so bit of a update not too good on the new ORE liked the old one haha

so i have it driving again but i need lj71 kzj78 lift springs for the front , cheaper the better , have brakes steering all done aprt from springs then re modify panhard rod lol

took it for a quick drive the other day with no exhaust just the dump pipe on got some filthy ooks was great to finally drive it after pouring this money into it ad then seeing some progress got the mid build blues now not sure where /how to find the funding for the next step hahahaah any one need ifs surf bits ??\

Yep keep at it Greg, I've been following it on FB, it will be a weapon off road with the live axle front.

Love it how you reinforced the frame.
Also I didn't realise those Prado trailing arms terminate at a conventional link type bushing. Cool.

cheers bro ! if one of you more computer savvy fellas could hook up a link that would be mad ! new spring well secondhand 80 series springs from line side to get to fit in there , bump stops are in all taped and threaded , need loooooonnnngggg shocks now with eye eye shocks

next stop aftter al that is to fit my arb air locker !!! good facebook score for 700 bucks although the missus didnt agree

i am itching to get it done and driving then im pretty sure ill need to brace my face from the smiles !

so just receved my springs 80 series landcruiser . going to have to attack them with the grinder as they are massive , glad they are here tho had a mix up with lineside and thought i was getting 4 ...... any way got fronts and now i can cary on just need shocks now im told y60 patrol ?? un sure tho


let the weekend begine tomorrow picking the wife up at 1130 so thats going to kill tonight for progress haha

Do you mean front or rear shocks? I assume front?

For the fronts from memory you will need Pin at the bottom, eye at the top? If so then Y60 won't work, they are pin at the top. Though you could mod your towers to run pin/pin shocks which is what I did, (y60 are pin/pin I think).

If you did mean rear shocks for the surf, I used 80 series rears. Eye at the bottom, pin at the top.

haha nah nah you are right bottle jacks one on top of the other holding the diff up while i get the cv out and the high lift getting the truck up to get the wheel off
