dash lights stay on on 80 series.

hi guys.

I have just had my alternater rebuilt. a few weeks ago the truck struggled to start, drove it for a bit switched of then no go. put in a couple of new batteries and of laughing so i thought. then my dash lights come on. both turbo lights. battery light. auto trans temp and oil light. then i was out by truck 1 day and could smell a burning smell, popped bonnet and yip was from alternater. out it came and hand it rebuilt. put back in and what do u know same bloody dash lights stay. does anyone know what it could be.

Take it to the place whos fixing your alternator and get it checked properly. Make sure it has the correct regulator fitted.
Check the wiring to the alternator as can break wires under air filter box

hopefully get it to auto sparkies tmoz, is it safe to drive it with these lights on. if i unplug the plug on back of alternater then the lights go off. soon as i plug it in the dash lights stay on

Yeah definitely sounds like the ignition feed wire to the alternator is broken
Is ok to drive just won't be charging
