Re: Gq Swb body mounts
remove radiator shroud as it could force a fan fin into the radiator and posible issue with low box gear shifter as well. things like brake and fuel lines should have enough flex but it will still pay to be awere

yeah gq's are prone to cracking body mounts when you use lift blocks they don't all do it but its not uncommon to see body's flopping around detached from the chassis

Re: Gq Swb body mounts
Ive had that clunking noise... the rubber bush appeared to have shrunk or been compressed lower than the crush tube within the mount..... out came the angle grinder trimmed the crush tube bolted it back up clinking noise all gone!!

I didn't replace the current ones as your indicating but did do a body lift by adding to existing.
I did my own having never done this before, 2-3 hrs with a mate and it was all done, std jack and bunch of blocks to jack body
I did a bit of research on this site, came up with a 40mm lift with large dia blocks
I used in end 8x NYLON BODY LIFT BLOCK 40 X 80 DIA X 12 HOLE - got them off dotmar whos on trade me
Brought myself 8.8 bolts with nylocs, the rear bolts were the worst bit else it was all straight fwd (air drive rachet helps)
you have to take 15mm or so off the back edge of the opening around the rear of the 4wd stick - when you pull the lever back into low range the lift stops it fully moving back.
We kept opening it up until the lever moved back fully.
I didn't have any issue with any lines, cables or hoses stretching between chassis and cab.

Re: Gq Swb body mounts
When I did mine I HAD to soften the rear nuts loctite with a heat gun. The factory thread lock is super tough!
phone Ross Bolus (secretary of the BOP club) He'll save you.
Re: Gq Swb body mounts
When I did mine, everything went sweet, one rear bolt came out easy, the 2nd one however loosened enough to do the first side, then went to do the 2nd side and undo it fully and presto, the famous captive nut broke off inside the floor!
Not a huge amount of tools on hand (had taken the truck down to work to utilise forklift to lift the body) I ended up using a hammer and screwdriver as a primative can opener to peel the floor back enough to get a large spanner on the nut

Re: Gq Swb body mounts
When body lifting these GQ's, does anyone fit blocks to the rubber mounts that sit on the cross member, under the boot floor?
if not, is this why rear body mounts break?

Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
