BNT Good for the Clutch

I know the name say's it all, Brake N Transmission.

The clutch is part of the transmission so it seemed a good idea to go visit them when the clutch slave cylinder on my Isuzu decided to spring a leak due to a split seal.

I went in search of a new seal and a boot but hey, how can you pass up a brand new complete cylinder right down to a new activating rod for $27.00 + GST.

This is a trade price as I deal with them through work, no we are not a w/shop but rather a courier company.

Good deal all round I thought, 10 min job to put it back in rather than having to kit the old one and now when I track down a new single seal when I have a bit more time on my hands, I will have a spare

Why bother ? the old slave cylinder is probably the original and been in and out more times than a fiddlers elbow and the new one will last another 20 years. Spend the money on some flowers for D and keep in the good books . :wink:

Yeah I agree , had nothing but good deals out of with, just got cvs for the cruza, $59 each new, less than half the price else where, when I did the back brakes , just put new slave cylinders in $20, shoes $49 ,not worth mucking about honing/new seals

BNT saved me over $150 bucks on some new universals for the shorty..
Also got new rotors for Mums wagon with a lot more change than she knew about :lol:

paid for some of the uni's :wink:

Ok. I've bit my tounge long enough.

FARK BNT!!! they were the ones that sold me dodgy brake shoes and then were real w_nkers about it, "Oh you probably have'nt installed them properly". And then when we wanted a refund they would'nt, just gave us some more brake shoes (we had already bought genuine toyota shoes as we had had enough with bnt) luckily the second set of shoes (supposedly identical) must have been made on a Tues/Wed/Thurs because they went in no worries. But what alot of F*%king around to get some shoes that worked from them.

Just hope the part you buy works, because if it does'nt.........

Anything to add Elmo?

Hey Mullett,which branch did you go to?? we deal with town cause the guys at Hornby are exactly as you describe but the town branch has been nothing but helpful,even with a couple probs

Maybe we struck them on a good day??

have to say the same , staff in town branch helpful, have struck a older guy at hornby who can be a bit grumpy, as they say shop with your feet, which is why I use the other branch even through I live in hornby.You don't say what was wrong with your brake shoes? pretty basic items, take it was for the wrong model or something ?? damaged/dirty returns can be a issue if just the wrong part, as its up to the purchaser to check, unless they take the worn part in for comparision. Price wise for the same aftermarket part ,their prices are very good

You don't say what was wrong with your brake shoes? pretty basic items, take it was for the wrong model or something ?? damaged/dirty returns can be a issue if just the wrong part, as its up to the purchaser to check

Trust me we ordered the correct part. As I said the second set of shoes they gave us were supposedly "exactly" the same as the first. Yet the second set went in without a hitch. Whereas the first set :evil:

We took the original shoes in and went by sample.

The top pivot point was in a slightly different place, made the linings sit aprox 1mm lower, hence causing them to drag.

We proved this by sitting them on a bar.

When doing this to the staff at BNT hornby, they agreed, they also said they have dicky sets from time to time, and were all happy to give a refund, as I had explained we had got gens just to save time. They had to get the approval from the boss, he was the wanker (NOT the counter staff, and the older guy was there also)

It was all the boss!!

New shoes sat slightly better on the rod, and actually worked on the truck.
