Who runs a high flowed ct26 or aftermarket turbo on there 80 series cruiser?
what do you think?
and what was the cost?

Ive been running a DSR430 for the last 4 years and just had it give up the ghost. Went pretty damn well however I found it was a bit too large with a large trailer on the back with the manual trans (I reckon it would be sweet with an auto though). Other than that it hauled ass . Tickled pump of course.

In terms of cost, was $650 for the turbo at the time, and made my own high mount manifold with external wastegate

Am now experimenting with a twin scroll holset hx40. WAY too large with an undivided manifold (honks once it kicks in though) but gonna try a couple of things before giving in and buying a new turbo. Chances are it will still be way too big but wheres the adventure in that

old pieces of crap.
afaik i think they are still carbon seal like the ct20. maybe theres a conversion for them, that would certainly well worth doing.
but probably better getting something a lot more upto date. pay to look up the aussie sites, a lot more conversions done over there so theres more than likely a crowd thats done all the testing already.
