NZv8 and nz hotrod magazine websites have links to the "book". $250 each If you are a member of NZHRA you get a discount.

Re: Scratch built rules
put it this way... a hilux mini truck with a notched chassi with custom strut towers, skyline front subrame and no inner gaurds with a holden gearbox, a twin turbo nissan engine, a ford 9 inch diff with subaru brake calipers, skyline front bumper legacy side skirts VN rear bumper jeep cherokee seats and rims, skyline dashboard and a, corolla sunroof and power window from a honda accord is classed as home built.
man those were the day's can't do that sorta stuff now, they didn't even bother recording the VIN, just gave it a new one.

this i can tell you, a mate did a body swap on a surf and all was required was a letter from police saying that there was no interest in said donor vehicle since vin number on the chassi was non existant

Re: Scratch built rules
Thanks thats what im after, looks like my idea shouldnt be to much of a isue just need to run it pass a certifier to double check
Re: Scratch built rules
Best to have a chat with Don (or who ever). Run your plan past him and see what he has to say.
He may have a different take on what you want to do (he does have to sign it off after all), but best to be open to suggestions (and not to rigid in your plans). Kind of stuck for certifiers in Chch area that can do scratch builds so best not to piss him off.

Re: Scratch built rules
Your best bet might be the Constructors Car Club in Wellington. I think a few of the people from the LVVTA tech committee are members. They're a good bunch of guys and I've seen some pretty awesome vehicles in their ranks. Also just like American Express "Membership has it's privileges".
