Ripped my Plastic Snorkel off completely whilst in the bush hunting this weekend.
Time to build something stronger. third time its happened. For the hunting I do the bush is tight and bits get ripped off to easy.Fm aerial gone too.
I plan to complete an Exo, so was thinking along the lines of a 3inch SS well mounted to the exo. considering running this up thru the FM aerial area then along inside the guard to front air box, currently the plastic one exited the guard mid way - one extra elbow and more joins to leak.
Keen to see some pic or ideas of those who have done it before.

If it's turbo I'd go 3 1/2 in min pipe size. I've kept mine on the outside of guard and have made it so the exo will be able to run above and below it.
Re: Making a built proof snorkel for Safari?
if you've got problems with the snorkel getting hooked up and ripped off in tight bush wait and see what happens with an exo cage
x2 on cutting it into the bonnet rather than the guard, try and minimise the blind spot its going to give you by the A pillar, a 3" snorkel will work but if you can manage it 4" flows better and is less restrictive

Where do you put the second battery in 24v Y60's?
What the story with wof's and cutting that area of the bonnet?
Quite interested...

Check there facebook man, both the batts are on the right side of the bay.
Chris, Am i right in thinking the optima batts are slightly shorter then a ns70 type batt?
would be a tight squeeze otherwise..

Re: Making a built proof snorkel for Safari?
Yes is now a turbo so will go 3.5 inch min or 4 if I can make it fit. Query I have the plastic air box housing that I'm told is good for separating out water. Have others removed this and made something equiv to run 4 inch flows.?Or just not bother with this? Current setup has an inline pod filter just prior to turbo so I really have to run pipe to front. Does a 4 inch pipe fit up inside guard as I can't see how I can run this thru bonnet near fuel filter and run to front without removing coolant tank.conversly running a 4 inch pipe on outside really starts to make it ugly…!

Hi guys , you could run 2x ns70s I would imagine would just be a little trickier to do the intercooler piping , I just like the optima battery as they have close to 1000cca , and be mounted on any angle , we have some race cars with orbitals and optimas that are 12 years old , o and because they look cool lol , (most important part) cutting the bonnet it fine as its not a structural item (hence why you can run glass ones etc , ) all the hinge mounting etc remain the same ,
We are doing a mass run of the air boxes in alloy and steel , with 3 and 4" outlets in multiple configuration with rubber lid gaskets and lazer etched emblems in the lids , ooooooooo and just finished the glorious diff brace and pumkin guard kits today il pop some pics up (sorry for hi jacking the thread)
