Hi All
I'm about to order a LOKKA for the back of my hilux surf, and I would like someone to confirm what I think is correct. The diff is a G294. It has never been changed in nz (11 years 200km) so pretty certain its a G series 4.1 ratio 4 pinion diff, so I will need the LOKKA TOY-RO-562 which says "All gears replaced, 30 Spline 4 Pinion gears" Is that correct?
Also what else should I replace in the rear end when I have it in pieces, it's done 270km, so it's probably due a slight freshen up.
LOKKA part number conformation PLEASE
Re: LOKKA part number conformation PLEASE
Send a pm to suzolla/4wd stuff he will be able to confirm what your asking
Would hurt to get a solid pinion spacer put in rather than a crush sleeve too

I cant help you on the lokka part num, but if you have the time and spare coins, since you have the diff half to bits it wouldnt hurt to do all the bearings and a solid spacer and it will need a new seal while your there.
Its a bit more technical than just putting in the locker but while you have the diff out it would be good to do the bearings, gear mesh clearance is not something to just wing as it will eat the crown and pinion happily if you get it wrong.
This guy has some really good write ups and shows you how its done, so maybe have a look and see if its something you can do.

Thanks trucked. I was planning to install it all (with the help of my mechanic) and then drop it to a diff specialist to set up and check eveything. I will look into the above parts and start ordering.

i would hold off ordering anything untill you have it in bits if your not in a rush to get it done. ive just put a lokka in the front, havent taken it far yet but the install went well, once i got it in bits I could see exactly what i needed which was nothing. bearings and shims in perfect condition everything was mint. i have no history on it but it didnt look like it had been apart before.
good luck with the install
