Got quite a bit done today. Exhaust tacked up but still a hole to fix, decided I really should leave overhead welding to people more experienced, created some pretty stalagmites around the hole tho haha. Hooked up fuel pressure reg, still flooding, return line was clogged fixed and runs pretty mint now, could've burned round the section all day but radiator fan not hooked up so also made up new switch panel just have to wire everything in now

Newly brought currently bog standard Discovery V8i with a drinking problem
This weekend i picked up the (new to me) Mistral from Geartech, who had been addressing the non working LSD. They said it looked like the diff had never had an oil change, and the whole thing was gummed up, but not damaged, as such. They cleaned it all, restacked the plates, and found it had pretty good preload, so didn't bother shimming it tighter. It is certainly a lot more positive, though not as awesome as a Eaton true Trac LSD like I had in the Surf. I cleaned the airflow meter sensor. I then replaced the Thermostat, with a genuine Nissan 82 degree item. The one i pulled out was also a genuine nissan one, made in 1996!!! The Mistral is a facelift model(1997 onwards) so it is almost certainly the one it came with from factory! Can you believe the lack of routine maintenance? Anyway, the mistral WAS running at 70 degrees all day, which is why i suspected the thermostat to be faulty. It NOW runs at approx 82/83 degrees. So probably a good result. The picture of Crash Bandicoot's new Snorkel fab has given me further inspiration….
