Thailand & Malaysia Trip

So i suppose its only fair I do a bit of a trip report...

Just got back for 3 weeks away in Thailand and Malaysia, was a "working" holiday if you can call it that.

Spent a few days in Thailand going to some 4wd shops and fabrication shops, spent the rest shopping and relaxing with the mrs.

Went to the Worachuk Mall - 4 Floors of all car parts

Went to VVP 4x4, the biggest 4wd shop in Thailand

Then we disappeared into no mans land somewhere to another little shop that builds custom 4wds...

Got taken for a ride in this, it was the shops promo vehicle for shows. Fully street legal and is one of the smoothest, best handling 4wds ive been in.

They had a small graveyard out the back of which they wouldnt sell me anything

Then we went to another small home based shop somewhere also in no mans land

So after we got sick of all the cheap beer and very generous invitations to go see the ping pong shows we jumped into the sardine tin and flew over to Malaysia

Checked out some modified cars


Went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Melaka



Went to see the Petronas Towers


Was seriously disappointed when I went inside...


Put a light bar on the team truck that I was crewing for

Loaded up and headed for scrutineering in KL

Few small adjustments and we were good to go

We spent the night at the hotel in KL then drove to Seremban for the opening ceremony

After the opening ceremony we convoyed from Seremban to Port Dickson for the Prologue SS stages

After Port Dickson, we again convoyed out to the first campsite and The Predator stages at Rembau

Unfortunately did get much footage due to no battery power but have some footage of our night time escape out from the jungle to head to the next bit

Had to do a couple log bridge crossings and a very steep downhill track that resemled "The Canyon" at woodhill








And yes we took the road truck on these tracks as we had planned to go get the trailer after

Next we headed to the Terminator stages - Campsite 2 near Kuala Pilah

Arrive at a beautiful riverside campsite





They had some evil SS stages here, near vertical winches and big ledges to climb

We then headed to Kuala Klawang for a presentation and a lovely feed put on by the locals



Then we headed off for the Twilight Zone in Jelebu




Had a beautiful campsite in Jelebu, surrounded by a river and jungle

Setting up the final stages, unfortunately I missed the Twilight Zone as they had left early and i thought we were following them in later, only to find out that we weren't it was around a 20km walk with a hope of catching up with them. I managed to get footage of 2 out of 3 final stages near the camp though
