20th - 21st Dec....

Post by kbushnz »

Early start to the day. Chassis repainted again (top coat reacted with primer coat). Back on its axles again !! time to start putting it all back together.
I am sure there is more paint on the floor than on the chassis ahahhah But its come out good. Few dry spots from overspray but its rather hard working in a single garage with it hanging from the roof.. But its done !

Assembled gbox with replacement cluster, fitted up with new release bearing. Found clutch slave cylinder had lost its piston while sitting in the barn for 3 months... , went to bled after replacement fitted and its seems the master clutch cylinder is stuck now too....
Cleaned out t/fer case and will fit up tomorrow with cross member, fit all bits the that are hanging down and then replace pinion seals in both diffs, refit center bearings and drive shafts. Fit extractors and drive home to fit rest of exhaust up. Then after morning tea....

Sunday was a mess, spent way longer in the pit sorting $#!& out, still no go, now starter motor has jammed and clutch wont bleed out

Still good things take time Im told...sigh

Took a trip up a very wet track at Maratoto to try out the new rock crawler, which is awesome. Drove most of the track with just one short winch. Much dryer coming down the track in the afternoon. Went well except for a very impressive bend in the fr panhard rod. Almost touches the sump.

Well OK the weekends over but I did achieve something on the weekend haha.. got the bloody truck finally running a lot better, Sat was just ridiculously humid here and the carb kept icing up so trying to adjust anything was a waste of time, sunday got it all sorted tho. Next to fix up the mess I made trying to weld the exhaust together..anyone in Tga any good at welding upside down in awkward spots haha?
Next mission will be trying to save some coin and take the tyres off myself, then cut out the wheel centers and move further back. Then its just small bits and pieces and a bit of a bog panel job and a lick of paint then will be ready for some abuse
