First trip!

Post by 4wdgirl »

Been 4wding with Dad since I was about 4 years old and now I finally have my my own truck! A 1986 Suzuki SJ413.

Took it out for the first time yesterday in the sand dunes and it was awesome!

Not long into the day before I realised that clicking sound was a broken cv joint... continued on anyway.

Then failed a hill climb and almost rolled - spent the next hour or so on the side of a very steep dune while some complicated winching slowly pulled me to safety.

When that was all sorted, only a few minutes down the track, I managed to put it on its side. You had to stick right and have a bit of speed to get over the dune - but once on the other side I hit a bank on the right, lost control and went up the bank on the left and tipped it over. Only damage was one not-too-obvious dent and lost ALL the petrol in the tank.

Still can't wait for the next trip!

Sounds like theres mud in the blood, and you had a good first trip in your own toy. As others have said welcome and very cool SJ.. the mess in my garage that vaguely resembles a 413 is jealous haha

It was months of looking before I found this! Went over my budget too but it was worth it I reckon considering it has been well looked after and has a roll cage, bucket seats with harness, winch, bull bar, tyres and rims are almost new and it came with heaps of spares!

I think everyone with an SJ soon has a large collection of spares haha. Definately nice truck tho..mines similar except external rollcage and I brought is as a rolling chassis..almost at a usable state now tho..might have to catch up for a play if you ever venture around the BOP in it
