Samurai axles into sj413

Post by RJF »

Hey, iv managed to get hold of some samurai axles & are thinking of putting them under my 413 for a wider track. iv had a read up & cant quite find what I need to do, from what I can understand are the spring mounts in a different place? the tuck I got has a set of wide offset rims on it so I might end up just using them & some spaces to get the width so what would samurai axles be worth? cheers

No idea what they are worth, but if you are having issues with breaking half shafts or CV's can easily get upgraded ones for the Samurai, not so easy for for the 413.

Yes spring perches are further out on the Samurai diffs so you would need to cut the old ones off and weld on new ones further in. Offset rims and spacers will increase leverage on steering components etc so may bend stuff. As for what they are worth that depends on who's buying. I stripped a set down and sold the set axles/cvs for $200, complete front hubs for $200 (good for disc conversion on early SJ410 and LJ50/LJ80), and pair of diff heads for $200 also.
