Hey guys. In trying to help a mate get his river hack blizzard to engage 4wd. There is a lever for the transfer and then a switch on the dash. It is the electrical side that's not working and I've had a good look over but can't find the issue.there must be a way to bypass the switch so the front different is always engaged. As its just a river hack and jas manual hubs I can't see it being an issue.
Has anyone done this before? Or just know how to do it?
Cheers

Cant remember how it works but im sure it vacumm engaged. So finding the correct vac solenoid and join hoses together should then have front output permanently engaged.
Solenoid is generally of fire wall near the brakes and clutch units. Track hose from t.box up to solenoid would be the easiest way

That makes sense so the switch engages the solonoid which applied the vacuum. Cheers mate will have a look

Yep based on what the solenoid does. You technically don't want it so bypassing it shouldn't be an issue.
Shouldn't affect vacuum on brakes etc as once engaged it shouldn't be using vacuum unless there is leaks etc

Re: Toyota blizzard 4wd wont engage
if its a vacuum actuator on the transfer case there are 2 solenoid's (usually on the firewall) one pulls it into 4wd and the other pulls it back into 2wd so be careful which vacuum hoses you join together or what solenoid's you permanently rewire
edit, if the solenoid's are coloured blue=4WD and brown=2WD

Re: Toyota blizzard 4wd wont engage
the vacuum solenoids are at the top of the transmission tunnel underneath the truck
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)

Correct, mounted onto diaphragm cover on transfer case. If you want to permanently engage it remove all solenoids etc and then connect the vacumn line to the pipe sticking out of the round cover with 3 bolts which is on front of transfer case above front driveshaft, this will engage it. Would pay to block off other line to prevent water getting in. If you need pics showing what should go where just ask and I'll get some for you.
