Ball Joint Spacer

Post by COOCX »

Hi Guys, I have just put in new tough dog heavy duty torsion bars and new shocks in my Challenger (Running a MCC Bar and Runva Winch), Im trying to get the most lift possible in the front to match the rear, (about 4')
Im about and inch or so shy so Im looking to fit some Ball Joint Spacers as recommended to me by a few people although I'd like to get some more info before rushing in and doing it! So a few questions I have:

- Are there any Cons to this?
- Anyone used them before?
- What size spacers should I put in? (12mm or 1"?)
- Do BJ Spacers require Certification?
- Is it worth replacing the factory Ball Joints while Im at it? (OEM 18 years old)
- Does anyone know the best place to find some?

Any advice/answers would be excellent!

4 inches i doubt you factory upper arms will last very long with that amount of levarage placed on the outer end of the uca with spacers...if you have gone to the trouble of fitting top notch suspension bits you might aswell do it properly and put a drop box in the front lower arms or buy after market uca's that dont require spacers.
Waiter...there is a drought in my glass.

That muchlift will require cert. Spacers or no spacers. . From 1st post continued..... hair line cracks develop around the inside of the arm next to the ball joint as it now has leverage where before the ball joint was close to flush with the flat surface of the a arm.
