My WJ Grand (which is somewhat new to me) has very 'Creaky' brakes, and i was after some advise on how to get rid of it...
The brakes work fine, even when towing 3 tonnes.
They are only creaky when stopping or starting... i.e. very little wheel movement.
They don't squeal/creak while driving, apart from the split second when you come to a complete stop.
They also creak every time i put it into and take it out of gear.
I have replaced the front pads with better pads (i think - Lucas), unsure whether it made it any better, but all can hear now are the rears...
This video may explain it a bit better...

Any ideas, as she is a reasonably nice wagon, apart from this god awful brake noise

Re: Ugly Brake Noise
The vid didn't work but if its the noise im thinking of its pretty common as my terrano does it on steep descents, my old Peugeot used to do it backing out of the shed in the morning and my fathers terrano does it anywhere and everywhere
. Not sure how to get rid of it other than maybe new brake disks.
