Hi. Just got my hilux 2000 model LN167 but my wof failed badly. Need 2 tyres, bushes, exhaust etc. Don't want to spend to much as I did pay a high price for the hilux ( one of those things "just got to have one").
But while I am having the bushes replaced is it worth replacing the shackels as well. If so can anyone recommend where to obtain rear spring shackels in the Wellington area. Most searches recommend a lift of 2" but standerd or maybe slightly extended shackels will do.
Thanks.

Unless you want to lift it, I can't see why you would replace the original shackles.
If you are looking for a little lift, remember that a 2" longer shackle will only give about one inch of lift.

Re: Parts for wot
you only need to replace the shackles and pins if they are rusty and pitted, if they are rusted and pitted they act like files and chew the shit out of the bushes and prematurely wear them out very rapidly
, greasable shackles and pins are always worthwhile the lubeing helps keep the rust down and reduces friction making the bushes last much longer and suspension work freer
if your thinking about replacing the shackles with longer ones to obtain a suspension lift forget it it'll cause you more drama's than the 20-30mm extra height you'll end up gaining
good luck with the new lux
