Snorkel - Christchurch

Post by ondrahu »

Hi all,

few weeks ago I bought old Nissan Terrano (1996) and thinking about fitting the snorkel. Could anybody recommend me any service in Christchurch or surrounding where are able to do that please? For affordable price od course ;-)

Thank you, appreciate it.

Just do it your self man. If you buy new they come with a template to show you where to cut
When i did mine i didnt have a template so i just guessed where to cut and drill holes.
End of the day it doesnt matter if its not perfectly cut/fitting as you wont see the hole behind the snorkel
Just make sure when you drill into the A Pillar where u secure the top of the snorkel you use PLENTY of RTV to seal the hole. If you dont water will enter and rust out the A Pillar.
Hope this helps

To be honest I don't believe my skills so much and prefere an "expert" :-) Anyway if I understand I have to somehow "close" the old air intake. Looks like my car has air suck above the left front wheel (in arch). + do I need to seal anything else? Main purpose is ford, sometimes river crossing. Thank you a sorry for maybe stupid questions, I'm a 4WD greenhorn and trying to find informations on internet as well, but better to ask somebody who knows sometimes. Cheers
