You do realise that there are already two other events already booked in for that weekend, don't you?

Hereworth Coastal Trek and
Rangitikei Hunt Coast to coast part 2.

Shame to as there are plenty of event calendars as well so should be no need for double ups.

there will be double ups because there are now so many safaris/fundraisers and most are limited to the drier part of the year.

we've had the mata school safari around the same weekend for the last seven years except for last year when there wasn't one.

Just because you have held it at the same time every year doesn't mean that it will be on again, especially because you didn't hold it last year, therefore people didn't know it was likely to happen again this year.

I don't necessarily agree that there is always double ups.
If only event organisers would take a look at the various event calendars published promoting these events, there would be minimal double ups.
There are less weekend safari's than there are number of weekends over the 2.5 months of "Safari season".

Also it would also benefit the organisers, the beneficiaries and the participants if a little forward planning was done and advertised the event earlier and not left to less than 3 weeks out from the event.
By now people will have already made their choices out of the other two events as I have.

I wasn't meaning that weekend was 'booked' I was just saying that's when its been held in the past.

I didn't say 'always'. plus there are a lot of other events (not just 4wding) on over the drier time people have to choose, that's just life.

yes, if it/they was/were always used.

As a past participant this was the first I heard of this years event. So where else had this event been advertised before now?
There was no mail out to previous entries, no listing with 4wd mag events (which is one of the best nationwide listings) so where else was this published if more than 3 weeks notice has been given?

Exactly. Go or don't but chill out you precious pup. Their loss if many can't make it.

Just done Motu and I'm going glamping down the Hereworth. Would love to have done the Hunt too but such is life. Maybe Mata next year. If there can be an improvement on the Motu dinner stakes I'd be a happier glamper. Pretty certain the Hereworth will have that sorted.
