Finally got the Challenger road worthy and decided to take it onto the beach to test the 4wd system.
When I put it in 4wd it starts grinding in the front left and the light for the center diff starts flashing.
Any Ideas what I should be looking at.
Grinding noise in front.
Re: Grinding noise in front.
Chuck it up on stands and rotate everything
Re: Grinding noise in front.
These have drive flanges fitted to the front hubs so a) there is no auto hubs to fail and b) I would expect some sort of diff disengagement mechanism like some hiluxes have. Just googled it and yes they do have the diff thingy here is a good thread on it:http://www.4wdaction.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=107616 So I'm picking that will be your problem.

Yeh sorry for the slow update blew a disc in my back so been drugged up.
Took it to Craig timms in Foxton whos a top bloke when it comes to 4x4s and it seems theres a fair bit of damage internally in the front diff so will get a new one this week and get him to swap the air locker over then refit then hopefully playtime

Its been a stressful and expensive refit but hopefully its all sorted now
