Finally invested back in a Prado. However, I think the shocks and springs are bit too old. I'm guessing it hasn't been replaced since 20 years ago.
Any brands you guys would recommend? My driving needs are daily driver and monthly light offroading trips. I'll need something that can withstand corrugated gravel roads.
So far I heard OME and EFS are the way to go. But they're a bit pricey and I'm not entirely sure if they're bit of an overkill for what I use the truck for.
Anyone had any luck with those KingSprings that are on TradeMe? Or any cheaper but still pretty good alternatives?

you pay for what you get my man.. ome and efs top brands or better brands then it goes down hill rapidly from there ( unless you go fox , FOA, etc etc).. if me id go ome for sure.. rides great works great and are dependable.. reliable..
But again.. you pay for what you get..

We put ironman under our Prado that is doing very similar to you. I am very pleased with it and price was good too. Just make sure you get the right weight springs. They have four different ones depending on what is on your truck.

Hi Macca, what do you mean depending on what's on my truck? How much did it cost for you in total? Did you fit it yourself? Is it an easy job?
Re: New shocks and springs, but what to get?
I mean they have four different spring rates depending on the load in your truck. If you constantly carry heavy fully loaded vs empty and no bullbars etc. I got a good deal through our local agent and fitted myself. Was pretty simple if you have basic mechanical knowledge. Cost was around the $1200 shocks and springs +50 mm lift at grade C load

Thanks Macca. Looks like I'll be getting grade A.
I'm still a newbie at DIY stuff to be honest. But mainly because I want to learn how to do them rather than pay someone to do it.
Ya reckon I can tackle the job by watching youtube tutorials?
