Installed snorkel - NOISEY AS F*#K

Post by RyNoBro »

Hey Team

have finished snorkel install on my wd21 finally - has a very strange rotary engine sound (bop bop bop bop bop).

Went for a spin - When heavy accelerating you can here the induction noise which i believe to the norm.

Sounds like a valve opening and closing or someshit - unsure am no mechanic (Sparky).

If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Cheers

Yeah filters in it - where is that valve? Is that in the bit that goes over the top - labelled turbo ?

The bit that says "turbo" is the cross over pipe!
A valve is an internal engine component, you have 8 in the td27, 4 exhaust and 4 intake.

Do what I did and sell the d21 and buy a challenger, they never break down and cost 10k to repair

What brand snorkel do you have? Any snorkel will make induction noise loud, but the safari snorkel that hugs the roof line (google image search will show what I mean) is louder than most (close to deafening at full noise with window open) . Maybe have a listen to some other vehicles with snorkels to compare?
