Patrol FS5r30a gearbox oil

is it true that your meant to overfill these gearboxs by a litre or so? does anyone know the capacity and type of oil? Many thanks

API GL-4 only other wise risk damaging brass components if using GL-5

remove the gearstick surround and unblolt the cover holding the gearstick into the gearbox and add another 1.5 litres.

So all up you should be putting in atleast 5.1 litres

the issue being in the casting of the filler bung too low on the gearbox and some bearings not being submerged in oil leading to failure.

Nissan did put out service bulletin on it.
