bit of an update I have completed my rear storage box nothing special, its just a box with two granade cases inside at the back which hold tools etc and in the front bit it has my spade spear water  and 2 hand winches oh and my air con hose.

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p42/ ... 1166925987
here it is from the rear and not properly shut :D

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p42/ ... 1166926038
the right hand side of the inside

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p42/ ... 1166926074
and the left hand side of the inside

also while i have been doing this i have converted my aircon to a air compressor. i started off with a $130 small 12v ciggy plug air compressor and tank unit from supercheap inwhich i ripped the shitty slow compressor off the top and used all the good bits (non-return valve so theres no strain on the A/C pump, pressure switch so it cuts out at 100psi and turns back on again at 60psi, the tank and the small coily hose that you connect your tyre inflator or whatever to.) so i went down to this aircompressor shop and got them to empty the aircon system of its gas on the arrival home i started to rip all the aircon stuff out like the radiator etc so now all i have is the aircon pump with two hoses comming off it (one is intake which will have this on it when it arrives http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... d=81715495 ) and the other is connected to the airtank (bolted to my storage box behind my seats) and then all is wired to the on/off switch and then to the pressure switch and then the positive wire goes to the aircon and the negitive goes to earth (the vehicle body)

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p42/ ... 1166926526
the on/off switch located ontop of the tank]

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p42/ ... 1166926573
the tank behind the seats bolted to the storage box

and this is a idea that me and RED_ZUKI thought of i got a supercheap de-greaser gun and filled it with water (instead of de-greaser) and its for pressure washing the window at the end of the track so you can see when you drive home 8) :D

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p42/ ... 1166926722

thats all for now 8)
merry xmas

exhaust was started and finished yesterday  RED_ZUKI and I did it with the use of red-zukis welder and welding skills :D heres a few pics it doesnt look to bad close up the welds look bad in those photos but red_zuki really is quite a good welder 8) its sports a set of extractors 1 high flow (straight through muffler) a seice of straight pipe and a series of bends over the rear diff all the bends are out of ford wellington's bin so they were free as was the straight peice of pipe i thike all up the exhaust cost me (including extractors) no more than $250 :D like every thing on this build it is done on a budget :D

Image
extractors

side veiw :D

Image
flange at the bottom of the extractos joining to the straight peice of pipe which goes to the straight through muffler

Image
the straight through muffler 8)

Image
the outlet of the muffler going to the series of bends over the diff

Image
no that isnt a big bore lol this was a last minute resort to keep it a little quiter and it kind of worked  its a high flow resonator which probably should have come before the muffler but oh well lol

Image
and from the back that is all for now, may have a update soon as i need to reweld the gearbog crossmember that was ripped off  and will be making some spring retainer clips :D

not nessacaraly a new radiator, just take it out and the to a radiator shop for it to be cleaned internally and externally.

its not expensive, and mine runs on the first mark on the temp guage, but it doesn't move whatever I do.

make sure you change the thermostat and temp sender at the same time.

Modern engines are supposed to run on coolant/antifreeze, if you put water in then it will not like it and run hotter.....for the older stuff ie landrovers etc its not as important....

Anit-freeze doesn't make a difference to operting temp. The thermostat controls that.

The only difference anti-freeze makes to the cooling systems thermal efficiency is by altering the boiling temp of the water by a whole 2 degrees. The radiator cap keeps the cooling system presurised, and is the main component responsible for extending the boiling point of the coolent past 100 degrees. But if your engines getting that hot, then you have issues

The main purpose of Anti-freeze is to act as a corrosion inhibitor to prevent alloy heads and blocks from corroding, and keep the cooling system clean and in good shape.

So if have overheating issues, get your radiator cleaned and flow tested, make sure the cap, thermostat, and fan are operating correctly, and the veins on the water pump are not corroded away 8)

its just had new water pump viscous fan radiator cap thermostat the temp sender is fine as is the guage its just when it gets full of mud it gets too hot so theres 2 options dont get it muddy (yea right tui) or use the radiator blind  i know what anti freze does that why i put it in there as i have a alloy head etc  cheers guys
