80 series rims on 185 surf

Post by mudsurfv6 »

is anyone using 16" 80 series rims on 185 (maybe also 130 ) surfs?
I believe they have a different centre bore measurement, 80 series-110mm 185 surf-106mm.
is that right? does that matter?

I've been researching what rims would fit my 80 series. Limited info on it but found that the center bore on an 80 series is 106mm (not 100% sure though), i'll measure my hubs when have access to my 80. Also read that the later 80 series with 16" rims are 'hub-centric'.. which means the fit has to be right with the rims and the hub (ie, 106mm hub with a wheel with a 106mm center hole). Don't know if it matters much though. Some people say its important that you keep the rims hub-centric if they are like that from factory. I might be reading into it to much

Does anyone have the exact hub diameter of an 80 series or 185 surf?

that makes it easy. thanks for that.

what length are the wheel nuts on the 80? looks like they have to go a long way inside rim, in a quite small hole. (standard 80 alloys).

std alloy rims have deep walls. the studs would be about even as when i bolt the steel rims on there is similar length of stud protruding out of the nut once tight
