Also want big dollars for a QD32 too, i was lucky enough to pick up a running QD from an Elgrand for 400, but even then came just as a bare long block no manifolds or alternator etc.

whats damaged in the motor?
qd32 is a bit of a backward step.
might be a good chance to rebuild the yd25 and tweak it up a bit.
Re: motor options for Nissan Stx D40 Navara?
Is it a late 08 4wd yd25 spain or thai assembled ?
I may know of a motor ,
Cheers

Give Brendan a ring on 021 475437 he was going to convert a mates D40 to LS1 using the Nissan 6 speed box, bit of electrickery to get around, but Brendan will have some other ideas, YD25's seem to be bloody dear to buy s/h, maybe you could rebuild the YD? Another option could be using the VQ30-40DE with factory parts

other option could be a Rb25 or 30 de/ det with a skyline GTs-4/GTR "big box" and terrano/pathfinder/mistral/navara transfer case.
Sounds like it's going to be a far bit of coin to get going again so might aswell go the whole nine yards

then just not bother with the nissan and buy an izuzu with a duramax already in it?

Re: motor options for Nissan Stx D40 Navara?
Or more accurately, an isuzu engine badged as a duramax to suit the american market.

2500 + 20% = 3000cc if it were me a bd30 from an atlas would be the go,
no cert (unless the rules have changed) direct injection add a decent turbo and intercooler setup,
keeps it all Nissan

I may even sell the Navara as is, does anyone know what it would be worth. Its done 230km, auto, always been serviced every 10,000km, has canopy, tidy and near new mud tyres.

Damn sure its changed jase,
the +20% increase is meant for no more than 20 % power increase on the original engine and original displacement, i.e higher lift camshafts etc, example going from a 3.5 rover to 3.9 would in theory mean a cert is necessary, even though you cant tell the two apart. A BD30 is like sticking a perkins tractor engine in a nice modern ute
Re: motor options for Nissan Stx D40 Navara?
Hi guys
Old thread and sorry for the dig, also sorry for long time no post.
Thought some of you might be interested in what I've been up to this year.
I will let the pictures do the talking:

So in short the engine is a VK45DD yes VK not a dirty old VH, much better power and torque output, far better size and shape for fitting into alternative chassis.
Mated to the Navara six speed manual gearbox, R51 Pathfinder IRS, full custom chassis that enabled a six inch drop (sorry I know some of you will HATE that LOL!! )
Yes some trickery to get things working correctly but I have kept ABS etc and the original dash, have worked closely with a well known tuner to get things sorted and repeatable IE: this can all be done again but with FAR less time and effort

Thanks guys
It will go "off road" when she hits the track at Superlap for a giggle. Not expecting it to be even remotely fast but it will look and sound cool
