Awesome work!

Isnt the outlet on the motor with the plastic housing the thermostat housing? If so shouldn't it go to to the top tank?

I just fitted falcon fans to my truck. They shift a lot of air. I fitted a thermo switch to control the fans. You using the ecu output to drive them?

cheers mate

Yes the plastic housing is for the thermostat. no the thermostat controls the water going into the engine so needs to be on bottom of rad. its also how they are plumbed up from the factory.

they sure do shift heaps of air. standing beside truck feels like a massive hair dryer coming from front wheel wells. im using an independent fan adjustable fan controller with warning settings etc. similar to this: http://www.nzkw.com/shadow-multi-purpos ... p-665.html

i really like it aye.

i also wired a cut out switch for the output wire that triggers the relay so can turn fans off for water crossings while still having the controller working so if i did forget to turn switch back on then the controller would warn me which is very handy

Cool.

I wired up three relays and a two stage thermo switch and a three way rocker switch so I have auto, off and full on.

On auto mode the two stage thermo switch controls the fans and at the first temp level it runs both fans in series so they get 6 volt each so its not massively loud and doesn't draw heaps of amps. The second stage switches them over to parallel so they get full speed.

My temp gauge has a warning function so if I forget to switch them back on after a deep water crossing I get an alert.

Probably various reasons for each but factors could include;

Cost to build in first place was rather more than the budget allowed.
Cost to run each time you take it out (and I don't just mean fuel).
The Lexus V8 as a car engine isn't as great as many seem to make out off road (lacks low down torque).
The Surf is too light a vehicle for all that power and abuse

Then again
Family commitments take over, additions or simply hook up with new girlfriend who wants all the attention.

hi guys.

this is not the place to debate on why people sell them

My reasons are valid. it is a great toy that at the time i started building it,

1, i wasn't engaged
2, i didn't have a mortgage
3, am now wanting to start a family - not exactly user friendly with family
4, Ive never gone places where this 4wd will actually benefit from the solid axle and v8

these are my main reasons why im selling it. Im still getting an another 4wd but it will suit my current lifestyle
