Fuel issues

Post by hamishh »

Hi fellas
The other day I changed the fuel filter on the 80 and now most of the time since first start in the morning it won't fire up unless I go out and prime it up first. After that it starts with ease rest of day. Any ideas??
Cheers

crack the fuel lines to the injectors just a bit and then prime it until diesel comes out.. as you have a air lock.. should sort it no worries

more than likely filter is not sealing properly or hoses on the filter are a bit loose. also had it when the primer itself doesn't seal well.
one reason i love electric lift pumps. hit the button and filter gets primed and you soon see if theres any leaks.

Not seeing any leakage from filter seals. All seems fine around filter itself

you won't. that the curse of draw up fuel systems. the IP sucks fuel up from the tank, so if there is a bad seal it sucks air into the fuel line which can cause air locks. they very rarely leak fuel out.
