Beaurepairs up here in Wellington did me a set of Goodyear Wrangler MTR's (33x12.5x15 fitted to 8x15 rims) for $260 each which was the cheapest around. Really pays to shop around and I mentioned the price on 4WD Bits and they beat it! See http://4wdbits.co.nz/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=776 - they've been out 3 times in the mud and they seem great for the price. Stef

Check out 4WD Accessories in Montreal Street. Got a great deal on 5 x 33" Buckshot Mudders & 8" rims at Xmas. The 'cruiser sits on them nicely & they seem to do a good job in the mud here on the coast. Just my 2c worth anyway. :D

Hi Frank.

Tonys Tyre Service on Fitzgerald Ave is the place to go. See Brent and tell him I sent you. They can do 33x12.5x15's starting at $200 each. They are bloody cheap at that. I reckon you would struggle to find decent 2nd hand tyres for that price.

thx guys for replying my topic
i have tried 4WD ACC last week.they offered me $300 ea for Maxxis Buckshot, i know it's not cheap. i remember it's $250 on 4WD bits

i have been to some shops during these two days.
at KATS, they offered me $1380 for 4 BFG all fitted and balanced($345 ea). dont know if it's cheap or dear. and they offered $300 each for the goodyear MTR, i know some one can get better price for 250 or 260 each.

i have been to Tonys Tyre Service on Fitzgerald Ave which Matt sent me to, however, they didnt give me good price for tyres. price starts from $270 for seringeti sumitomos, $300 for MTRs. $400 something for BFGs. :? and they didnt want to beat the price on 4WDbits.

not sure is it because im not a kiwi and im not speak good english so i cant get a good price like other people. havent try Beaurepairs yet, maybe i should ask a local person to go with me for next quote

cheers

Delta 4WD here in Blenheim have pretty good prices on Maxxis tyres (Buckshot around $240ea fitted) so may be the same at the Christchurch branch. Try an enquiry at Tony's through the website - I got quoted $240ea for Goodyear MTR 33x12.5x15 plus fitting. Since they haven't got a branch in Blenheim, I took the quote in to Beaurepaires & they dropped their original quote from $345 to $270 ea fitted.

I just requested an online quote through their website and got quoted Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 33x12.5R15 for $395 per tyre! A quick call to tell them they were taking the piss ended up that it was supposed to be $295, but they would do them for $275 fitted and balanced at the Porirua store in Wellington.

Muddy: How long ago was that quote for $240?

Mark - FYI - in this discussion earlier I mentioned purchasing Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 33x12.5R15 from Beaurepaires, it was the Buckle Street store (Wellington) that did them for $260 (GST included), this also covered fitting and balancing. Cheers, Stef

Havent tried them in the mud yet, got to finish the loom first. I have been told that you need to be able to spin them for them to be much use as they aren't too good at self clearing. Good balance between mud performance and road k's which is what I need.
can you legally drive them on the street ?

Yes, now its certified for them.
also how do you find the " offroadexpress 4x4 club" ?

What can I say, its new and moving along ;-) most of the trips are organised on here, good bunch of friendly guys....
whats NZ4WD ?

They are a national organisation not a club as such.
