Well I've got the engine in place and bolted to the auto but question is can I run the auto without the Trans ecu? I've got one off madaz but buggered if I know where it goes and I don't have any loom as such to plug it in. Or is there some way I can run it independently from the engine as my truck was originally manual any help would b very great

I believe you can run them in a manual form with out a computer (will need a few relays though). This is what I plan to do, though I have not sussed any details yet. Both Madaz and Darinz would be good to ask (Madaz has done the same sort of thing with a lexus auto and I believe Darinz has done it with the safari auto, neither of them are running factory engine ecu's)

Nah just two SPDT switch's, and a pinout diagram for the TCU plug..

one for 1st and 2nd .........middle positive, down position goes to 1st solenoid up position goes to 2nd

the other to lock up the TC and and disonnect the line pressure solenoid.

basically turns the trans into a powerglide.

then just figure out how ya want them mounted that suits you.

I ran with a relay based setup to start with and it was ok. Relays were controlled by the inhibitor switch so used shifter to change gears. This is important as the Trans is not fully electronic.
I've been using full manual valve body from wholesale automatic in Oz for a long time and it is good, very good and worth the money. Take into account I'm running over 500hp through a safari Trans and the same Trans has done a fair few winch challenges plus a few off road races. (Although did sweet fa last weekend!)

Hmm yeah I will eventually go full manual valve body like you have done darinz but at the moment I just need some where I could pay just to get the Trans working ie like the inhibitor switch mod if there's a write up to follow I could do it myself everthiing is in there now all mounted up just gotta do all the little stuff which always takes the longest. If you know where's there's a write up on hw to make this electronic du hickey that would be awesome bud

Well I got the price back from wholesale autos in oz for a full manual valve body, Neadless to say at that price I won't b going that way anytime soon b cheaper to fly there and have a holiday instead. So if any body has the write up to do the mod to use switches to change the gears manually it wud be most appreciated I can't seem to find it, Also if someone has a auto loom I've got the ecu just no wiring I wold be kern to buy it off you thanks

thats why ya want manual t/c lock up, or wire the overrun clutch to engage via switch aswell.

It's easy. Just control it via the shifter / inhibitor switch and you get get engine braking etc. No need to control over run clutch. Imo tc lockup is for onroad cruising. The engine braking issues are far more related to tcase gearing than the auto slipping.

Alright bit of an update I've got my sparky mate doing my wiring we have everything hooked up but as it turns out I have no power to the injectors and for the life of me can't figure it out, Triple checked the wiring and there's no breaks in it anywhere but was wondering is there some sort of thing to tell the ecu that the trans is in park as I'm running the engine separate to the trans very frustrating so close.
