Sj413 diff head into escudo

Post by Marculo »

Hi here does anyone know if a suzuki sj413 diff head will fit into my escudo ?
Understand I will have to fit my 5.12 R&p into it. I have read online that it will bolt upto the escudo housing.
Just trying to find a cheaper option to buying a expensive vitara one.
Cheers guys

Front or rear? Rear definitely not, front is possible with some work.

Can't quite understand why he had to machine it? When the other link they say the two diff heads just convert over? Once R&p are put in?

Because the in first link posted they are fitting the lower gears out of 2 Escudo front diffs into SJ carriers which are going to be fitted to an SJ. Whereas in the link I posted the SJ centre has been fitted to a Grand Vitara which has the same front diff setup as an Escudo. SJ's don't have a circlip or anything like that to hold the axle into the diff as it can't come out because the hub holds it in. Escudos need to have a circlip to hold the axle in otherwise it would pop out. The first link is still useful as you will still need to do all that but with the machining shown in the second link as well.

He messaged me saying

Yes that will bolt right in, you just have to make a pinion support and possibly grind down some parts so they don't hit the frame. Mine is different as it is 26 spline and I've read where some say they can't get the c clip to expand in the side gear to hold the axle. So I had it machines a little just in case. As long as you swap in your side gears, you should have no issues.

If I am keeping the 22spline gears I shouldnt have any trouble if I swap mine In
Saying that.. How much stronger are 26 spline cvs?
